The Independent Dance Project Covid 19 Protocols for Staff and Students:

Updated 8/1/2022

Using the studio in a safe way to mitigate the spread of Covid 19 is of the utmost importance to the staff at IDP. Below is our Communicable Disease Management Plan:

General Use of Space:

The lobby is now open to parents but please do no over crowd, try to keep safe distance while using the lobby. Masks are no longer required for dancers or faculty. They are optional.

Cleaning Protocol:

  • The lobby and restroom will be cleaned each day, wiped down with Clorox wipes or sprayed with bleach solution.

  • Ballet barres will be cleaned after each use.

  • High-touch areas like door knobs, flushers, sink handles, water dispenser button, will be cleaned multiple times per day.

General:

If a dancer is feeling unwell or if someone in the dancers’ immediate household is unwell then we ask that you do not come to class.  If you or anyone in your  household have recently had an illness with fever or a new cough. Any student who becomes sick while at IDP must be quarantined from the group and parents called for immediate pick up.

It is the parent/family responsibility to health screen before coming to class. Please take your child’s temperature, consider your exposure risks, and make a thoughtful choice.

Arriving at the studio:

  • Students will utilize cubby to keep their dance bag/shoes/snacks/water bottle. Items from home should be kept only in the cubby.

  • Sanitize hands before each class (dispenser in lobby)

After Class:

  • After class dancers are to be picked up promptly at the end of class–they cannot wait in the lobby or the studio.

  • Dancers should sanitize hands upon leaving the studio

  • Dancers should take all personal belongings from the studio. Any articles of clothing or water bottles left will be disposed of.

  • Be mindful of spacing when entering and exiting doors and try to maintain 6 foot distance.
