BENEFITS OF ONLINE DANCE TRAINING
You know that feeling when you come back from a break or vacation and your body just doesn’t feel as strong or energetic as it was pre-break? Well that’s one reason we are continuing to dance through the quarantine. But, one of the biggest reasons is because it’s an integral part of us. Everyone at IDP has committed a huge part of their life to dance, and regardless how our world changes, we continue to include dance in whatever way we can. Read on to learn the many benefits of online dance training. You will find they are similar to taking classes in person!
FITNESS + TECHNIQUE TRAINING
Fitness and technique training are the most obvious benefits of taking online classes. It keeps your heart healthy and your muscles strong for when we return to our regular classes. Additionally, you have worked so hard to build the technique you have, and we would hate to see you lose it. Keep thinking about where you want to go as a dance, and use that as motivation to work hard from home!
MENTAL STIMULATION
Dance isn’t just about exercising the body. It exercises the mind, too! We use math in the rhythms we create in tap class, anatomy teaches us the right muscles to engage to achieve certain movements, and it keeps brain function sharp as we learn and memorize choreography.
SOCIAL OUTLET
We are social beings and we really miss the connections we’ve created at the dance studio. It’s so fun to connect with each other digitally. After class, we feel energized, motivated, and refreshed to keep powering through this time away from each other.
STRUCTURE
We keep hearing that routines are really helpful right now to keep you motivated and happy. Live classes provide a commitment for yourself. One item on your calendar can help motivate you through your whole day to get things done or take care of yourself so you are ready for class on time!
